10 March 2011 : Clinical Solutions announced today that it has been awarded Health Content Providers Accreditation from URAC, a US health care accrediting organisation that establishes quality standards for the health care industry.
“We are pleased to receive Health Content Accreditation from URAC,” said Dr Jean Challiner, CMO, Clinical Solutions. “The accreditation process helps validate and strengthen our clinical governance and clinical development team’s processes. With over 65m encounters, more than any other content provider, we’re setting a milestone for the industry. More importantly, our clients and their patients are assured we comply with industry standards when creating and maintaining content.”
“By applying for and receiving URAC accreditation, Clinical Solutions has demonstrated a commitment to quality health care,” said Alan P. Spielman, URAC president and CEO. “Quality health care is crucial to our nation’s welfare and it is important to have organisations that are willing to undergo rigorous evaluation by an independent accrediting body.”
Content providers such as Clinical Solutions are required to comply with disclosure standards, accountability and policy/procedure standards, quality oversight standards and enhanced health content standards, plus peer-review and licensure standards as part of URAC’s Health Content Provider Accreditation process.
The process also requires that all health content is peer reviewed by a minimum of two health content reviewers, one of whom must have expertise relevant to the condition under review, and licensed health content cannot be edited by the web site receiving the licensed health content.
